Have you ever thought that how many products are disappeared and manufactured again?

Plastic has been together with the development of industrial design. Numerous plastic products were created due to its material advantages that are cheap price and easy processing.

However, as plastic products has been dominated in the world,  its problems has been followed. Those are the environmental pollution caused by plastic wastes-1. It is difficult to be decomposed in the natural world, 2. It moves with the winds, 3. It floats on the surface of water, 4. It causes 2nd pollutants when incinerating it (hydrogen chloride, dioxin etc).

To alert people to such problems, we designed ‘electric rice cooker for single life style’ using recycled plastic and bio plastic material.

It is minimal-typed low-cost electric rice cooker that has basic function by minimizing the number of unnecessary component parts. It attempts to have energy-saving effect through Green Cooking System by optimizing power consumption. This product has 2 types, ‘Bio Plastic version’ that removed another spray postprocessing and ‘Black version’ that has the features of recycled plastic material.

플라스틱은 산업디자인의 발전과 함께 해왔습니다. 값싸고 가공이 쉬운 플라스틱의 재료적 장점 덕분에 수많은 플라스틱 제품들이 탄생되기도 하였습니다.

하지만  플라스틱 제품이 세상을 지배하게 되며 자연스레 문제점도 따라왔습니다. 바로 폐플라스틱에 의한 환경오염-1. 자연계에서 분해가 어려움, 2. 바람을 따라 옮겨다님, 3. 물의 표면을 떠다님, 4. 소각 시 2차 오염물질을 유발함(염화수소, 다이옥신 등) 등등.

이러한 문제점에 대해 경각심을 울리고자 재생 플라스틱과 바이오 플라스틱 소재를 사용한 ‘싱글족들을 위한 전기밥솥’을 디자인하였습니다.

불필요한 부품 파트 수를 최소화한 기본 기능만을 가진 미니멀한 형태의 보급형 전기밥솥입니다. Green Cooking System의 전력 소비 최적화를 통해 에너지 절감 효과를 꾀하였습니다. 별도의 스프레이 후가공을 없앤 ‘바이오 플라스틱 버전’과 재생 플라스틱 소재를 쓴 제품이 가지는 특징인 ‘블랙 버전’이 있습니다.
